Slippppery

February 4, 2025

No, I didn’t slip while taking this picture. Really, I didn’t. Ah, come on, quit laughing.

There’s nothing quite like a sign that says “Caution: Not a walkway, slippery floor” to challenge your inner photographer. Of course, you thought, What could go wrong? You just wanted a quick snap, proof that warning signs sometimes feel more like dares. But fate, irony, and gravity had other plans. One step too close, and suddenly you’re doing the unintentional splits, iPhone flying one way and dignity flying the other. As you awkwardly pick yourself up, brushing off the floor like nothing happened, you mutter, “No, I didn’t slip while taking this picture. Really, I didn’t.” But the witnesses, doubled over in laughter, aren’t buying it.

The worst part isn’t even the fall—it’s the fact that the picture is probably blurry because you pressed the shutter at the exact moment your life flashed before your eyes. And now you’re stuck with the memory of people laughing like they just witnessed a slapstick comedy sketch. “Ah, come on, quit laughing,” you beg, but let’s face it: you’re the reason this caution sign has job security. Somewhere, the floor is thinking, I warned you. Now I’m the star of your blog post.
