Where’s the Duck?

July 18, 2024

I am a very good driver!

I had to do a double-take when I saw it—a dog sitting proudly in the driver’s seat of a parked truck, paws resting on the steering wheel like he’d just finished parallel parking with the precision of a seasoned trucker. His expression was a mix of concentration and smug satisfaction, as if he’d just executed the perfect reverse park and was waiting for someone to pat him on the back (or at least scratch behind his ears). Meanwhile, his floppy ears flapped slightly in the breeze, giving off serious “I’ve got this” vibes.

The best part? The truck was perfectly aligned, no wheels up on the curb, not a scratch in sight. I’ve seen human drivers mess up parking jobs so badly they could turn a straight lane into a puzzle, but this dog had nailed it like he was auditioning for a canine Fast & Furious spinoff. I half-expected him to hop out, toss the keys to a valet, and head inside for a bone and a bowl of water on the rocks. If this is the future of automated driving, sign me up—because honestly, that dog just parked better than I ever could.
